We finished packing up yesterday morning and checked out of our apartment at St James Place. We spent the morning taking one last stroll around Beaver Creek.  We all wanted to stay as we have had such a blast here.  Max especially was sad….he wants to live in Beaver Creek and ski everyday…..might be a challenge in the summer months!  The kids had one last play in the snow before we had lunch in The Flying Pig cafe for the last time.  It was snowing all morning so it was fitting to wave goodbye to our favourite ski resort (the only one we have ever been too!) through the falling snow flakes….ohhhh.

The drive to Denver was a slow one given the falling snow and icy roads.  We were not taking any chances and took our time, Brett doing a great job.  We finally arrived into Denver with clear blue skies at 4pm.  Brett and Sienna went to the grocery store while Lee-Ann and Max did some washing and got organised.  We had dinner in last night and were in bed early…tired after the difficult drive.

Today we all slept in…..no ski school!!!!! We enjoyed the hot breakfast downstairs in the hotel and then went for a stroll down the 16th Street Mall.  We went to the movie theatres and caught a movie.  We saw Yogi Bear in 3D.  Max and Sienna loved it, with Max laughing all the way through it.

We stopped for lunch at a casual restaurant called Earls, located in 16th Street Mall.  Lots of people watching the various NFL games on the many TV screens……this is a popular past time here as there were many restaurants like this throughout the city.  Max and Sienna shared a huge burger, Brett had a steak sandwich and Lee-Ann had the Pad Thai.   All great.

We then walked back to the hotel for a nanna nap.  Nice!!!!

Packing was on the agenda this afternoon in preparation for our flight to New York tomorrow morning.  We think we will make it although it seems like we have so much more than we did 9 nights ago when we flew from Orlando!  Oh well, we made it all fit!

We are soooooo excited about spending Christmas in New York City!!!!  We are looking forward to seeing one of our favourite places again and seeing that constant buzz that is unique to NYC.  Plus Lee-Ann's parents arrived in NYC a few days ago so we are excited to have family to see and speak to…..not that we are tired of just communicating within the 4 of us but, gee, after 4 months 2 extra people to speak with will be "awesome" as Max would say. We can’t wait!
