Brett was like a caged (and grumpy) lion this morning because when he got up and checked the weather outside he saw one think – FOG!!! Brett called the Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course pro-shop to see what the go was.  Play was delayed an hour and rain was forecast in the afternoon.  If that fog did not lift Brett was not going anywhere and would be a very unhappy chappy!  All through breakfast Brett kept checking the view (driving Lee-Ann crazy)!  This continued for a good hour until finally the pro-shop gave the all clear and the sun appeared which remained for the rest of the day.  The lion was out the door in a flash!

Brett's Golf Day
The golf course was in fantastic condition…..however, it was very cold and windy!!  The guys in the pro shop were very helpful.  They gave me a set of TaylorMade Burner clubs…..very nice indeed.  It was a quiet day at the course so I ended up playing on my own.  The tee shot on the 1st hole was interesting…..one of the groundsman was aerating the tees and waited for me to tee off.  I proceeded to cold top the ball into the scrub on the right side of the fairway.  He just shrugged his shoulders.  I thought great start to an otherwise beautiful day.

For those interested in some golf stats, I had 3 pars and a birdie and a fair sprinkling of ordinary shots throughout the day.  But who cares, it was a beautiful course.

Lee-Ann, Max and Sienna’s Day
Well, we had one thing on our minds today…finding that playground we briefly spotted on arrival at the resort.  It was a lovely 15 minute walk in the sun to the playground.  Chilly in the morning so beanies were in order.  The kids loved the playground.  It was beside 3 very cute timber houses which are the child facilities.  In Summer this resort is extremely popular and runs all kinds of activities…it would be just like that Summer holiday resort in the movie Dirty Dancing!

We then went for a stroll along the beach, checking out the outdoor pool, boat house, canoe shop, water trampoline etc, etc.  Then after some negotiations, which I lost, we headed back to the playground for another go before heading home for lunch.  Sienna had a nice nap while Max and I watched the DVD movie of Curious George. Yesterday we asked one of the Resort staff if we could hire DVD’s given there was a DVD player in the apartment.  They rang Blockbuster for us but they were not accommodating (we are aliens from another planet).  So the Resort service manager said to leave it with her.  She asked the staff to bring in any DVD’s from home so this morning we were provided with some great DVD’s for the kids.  Really lovely people.

We all reunited in the afternoon and headed to the indoor pool.  Fantastic facility with a kid’s pool and kids lifejackets for swimming.  Max and Sienna loved it…so did Brett….Lee-Ann was very happy to observe.

Back to the apartment for dinner and discussions of the day’s events.  We had another "Scary Harry" lighting ceremony…looks like this is going to be a ritual!!!
