Up bright and early this morning, saying farewell to Whistler. Drove from Whistler to Horseshoe Bay, also known as the Sea to Sky Highway, to catch the BC Ferry across to Vancouver Island.  Perfect day for catching the ferry – sunny and 19 degrees.  The BC Ferry is about 3 times the size of the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry in Melbourne and the trip only takes about 1 hours.  Kids were easily amused by the playroom and arcade games area.  Enjoyed lunch in the sun watching the beautiful view.

Once on Vancouver Island it was an easy 1 hour drive from Nanaimo to the RV Resort in Metchosin (30 minute drive from Victoria).  Arriving at the RV Resort at 2.30pm was great as we were able to enjoy the sun and beach for the afternoon.  The RV site we have is directly in front of the beach looking across to the city of Victoria and the snow-capped Mt Baker in the distance (sits beside Seattle in the US).

We can't believe we have been away for 30 days.  It feels more like 2 weeks…quite depressing!  So we got stuck into a bottle of red along with a fantastic antipasti platter (some may also call this cheese and biscuits!) ……didn’t feel so bad then.

After dinner, the kids enjoyed the fire and marshmallows.  They are experts at cooking marshmallows now as is Brett on getting the fire started!

Sienna had a bit of an accident today….she feel down the steps that lead to the beach, grazing her chin and getting a bump on the head.  So in the next few days of photos she may look a little worse for wear.  But have no fear…she is still talking nonstop and cracking everyone up.
