We hated to leave our spot on the Rogue River. We would have loved to spend a week at this location. The owners of the park couldn't be any nicer and the neighbors the same. But, we had a reservation at a state park up north by Florence. It was an easy drive that took us about 3 hours, w/ stops.
When we arrived at the Honeyman State Park, we were again pleasantly surprised. With so much of Oregon being state parks, you get used to the lush greenery. This park, which is right on the Pacific is no exception. We kind of have a routine where once we get set up at our spot, the boys and I throw the baseball and we walk around the park. We got a little drizzle so we stayed by the RV instead. The boys did manage to find a sandbox close by. Collin was kind enough to bury Keegan. Needless to say, they both had their showers outside tonight.(w/ a hose)
We are about 3 miles south of the town of Florence.(a top retirement destination) Kelly was very happy to hear that this weekend is the 100th annual Rhododendron festival. We quickly learned this is a pretty big deal. The park is pretty full and people are here from all over the state for the festival.(who knows, maybe we can get a picture w/ Ms. Rhododendron)
