What a great day! We got started early this morning to get into LA for the boys acting class. We found a dog sitter on barter on the way so we dropped Riley off. The boys had their class from 10-12pm. Kelly and I had heard about the infamous 'farmers market' here so we went and walked around. Every food you can imagine and it was all incredible. I left Kelly at the market and went back to pick the boys up. They didn't want to leave they were having so much fun. They learned a little about 'method acting,' but they especially loved playing 'freeze frame' where they have to take turns going up in front of the class and creating a new scene. They have another class next weekend.

After I dragged them out of class we went back down to the farmers market to walk around and have lunch. Kelly was lost in the 'American Girl' doll store. We took the boys in and made it a home school opportunity. Call it Marketing 101... I was amazed at how many different ways they market this doll. They had dolls the girls could chose that looked like them, they had dolls from different points in history. They had a doll salon, a cafe where the girls can have lunch with their dolls and of course matching outfits for the dolls and the girls. I don't know if the boys found it as amazing as we did. As a marketing major, I thought it was great.

We wanted to try to take a tour in Hollywood, but most tours only operate during the week. So we decided to walk around Hollywood Blvd. We ended up on the receiving end of a major blessing. The new Disney movie 'Cars' came out yesterday and the theatre across the street from the Kodak theatre(where they hold the academy awards), was doing a big promotion for the movie. They had the character cars out in front of the theatre and were giving some promotional items out. We walked up to the box office and saw that almost all of the shows were sold out. We were shocked when a girl walked up to us and said she had tickets for the 4pm show.(it was 3:55pm) I guess she was part of the marketing team, because we not only got free tickets, but we also each got a bucket of popcorn and a drink. In addition, they had a real Nascar pit crew on stage before the movie with a race car. The crew was actually changing tires on stage. They wanted volunteers from the audience and this time Keegan was chosen. He got to participate in a real 'pit tire change' and won a pair of gloves like the ones the pit crew wears. The movie was great.(even Kelly liked it) We were just thanking God when we came out for the blessing.

We looked into a few tours after that and walked a little more before we went looking for a dinner spot. As we drove around the Hollywood/LA area, we saw a line of people at this hot dog stand. We figured any hot dog that draw that big of a crowd must be good. We went back and realized it was the famous 'Pinks.' This place has been in the same spot since 1939. I have heard of it before, but din't know it was so famous. There were a bunch of well-known actors' signed head shots on the walls. Many of the dogs were named after actors. We actually waited in line for almost an hour and the line was even longer when we got our food. It was a great experience and the perfect ending to our day!
