June 6th has been officially dubbed "Dick and Jane Day." Since February of this year Collin has been on a reading marathon. He asks almost everyone we meet, "Did you grow up reading Dick and Jane?" He has read all of the D & J books and actually asked us about changing his name to Dick. I looked on line to try to see if there was one book he hadn't read yet. He was so excited to learn he had read them all and insisted that I document the milestone on our blog.(be sure to congratulate him when you talk to him)

He and I went to Borders Books this morning to find another good series for him to read. We decided on "The Magic Tree House" series. I told him he would get $5 for reading the first book(Night of the Ninjas) because it is a little more difficult. He began reading it to me on the way home and is almost finished with it. Kelly is doing such a great job schooling the boys and we are both excited that they are showing an interest in reading. Keegan is on the 4th of C.S. Lewis 7 "Chronicles of Narnia" books.

I managed to catch a cold I think Collin had and have felt lousy all day. We stayed home and the boys did their school work and Keegan played chess with one of his new friends. This little boy is Jewish and he is a trip. He is constantly waiting outside for the boys to play with. Collin has been quizzing him about what kosher means and why he thinks Jesus was such a crazy man.

Collin did it! It's almost 11:00pm, but he was determined to finish tonight and earn the $5 in bonus money. He's saving up for a scooter and being very self disciplined not to spend his allowance and book $.
