Well, I had a wonderful birthday. Kelly and the boys took me to breakfast at 'Mimi's Cafe.' After breakfast, Kelly had a sailing lesson scheduled(barter, of course) on Mission Bay. Our instructor, Thomas, was very good with the boys. As you can see from the pictures, they both had an opportunity to navigate. Did I mention the weather was perfect? We went out for about an hour.

Later in the afternoon, Keegan, Collin & I had a 'Sequence' rematch while Kelly was getting her nails done. We have an on-going tournament with the board game and the boys are very good.

The best part of the birthday was dinner. Kelly found this incredible french restaurant(you guessed it-barter) that was only about 10 minutes from our park. Dinner was amazing, only to be outdone by dessert.

Of course, we had to get home in time to catch the American Idol finale. We had all guessed that Taylor would win. I must say, it is pretty telling when more people vote on a reality TV show than for any US president.

Happy Birthday Chris!
Hey Chris,

Great to read that your special day was in fact special! Suppose that next year when you hit the big 4-0 it will require a major celebratory bash. Once you hit 40, I am told that it is all down hill from there. Perhaps some AARP work might be your next gig! Just kidding!

Sailing lessons... did I tell you about my friends that sailed around the world and met a couple homeschooling their kids aboard a yacht? Maybe a global sailing adventure might be in your future. My friends loved every minute of their seven year journey. Fascinating stories.

Safe travels.
