Hello from Homosassa Springs, FL! Come along with us to learn about Keegan and Collin's favorite interest...animals! We started our morning out at "Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park." It used to be a private zoo but now the state of Florida owns it as a refugee and education center.

In the welcome center, the boys were fascinated by the two headed turtle to start out with. We took the tram to the park just in time for the manatee show. After seeing the manatee munch on carrots up close, the boys headed to the Children's Education Center to play with puzzles, learn about turtles, and meet Ms. Joanne the volunteer ranger and retired school teacher. She gave us some great learning tools to take on the road with us.

Mom's favorite show was seeing the 46 year old Rhino named Lou, who was a former movie star now retired since 1966. Keegan and Collin met some new friends from Jacksonville, FL who were on spring break. Of course, they invited Jacob, James, and mom (Ms. Karen) to walk around and see the reptiles, birds, alligators, panthers, and bears with them.

We enjoyed our new friends so much we asked them to join us for our glass bottom boat ride on the Chassahowitzka River later that afternoon. (of course on barter) Captain Karen took us for a ride down the most natural waterways we had ever seen. We saw quaint fishing camps only accessible by boats, fed the birds pretzels, saw a bald eagle in the wild, spotted rare birds, viewed the springs and fish from her glass bottom, and learned the history of the area from her photographs.

Collin loved the bald eagles the best and Keegan the panthers (our FL state animal)!

GOD MOMENT-As we were hooking our car back up at the wildlife park, we met park ranger, Grace. She was a sweet older lady whose husband was ill. Chris offered to pray for him and she was thrilled. Then, as we joined hands in the parking lot she prayed for our travels and gave us a kiss!

Time to head north on 19 for our 4 and a half hour trip to our state capitol in Tallahassee, FL.

Arrival: 10:00 pm Super Walmart parking lot in Tallahassee, FL.
PS-It's much chillier here...
