We are on a 600 mile run south to Florida. Prior to getting there we had to make a stop here in  Brunswick, Georgia.  There are a couple of reasons!   Our travels north had brought us this way. During that trip we found a barbeque restaurant out on  St Simons Island that I just couldn't stop thinking about. And, knowing that we would be driving right by it just didn't seem right!

The coach was also due for it's annual 'fluid change'. As fortune would have it there is a very highly rated commercial campground located at the same exit as the Speedco. And both were in Brunswick!    Normally we would have gotten the fluid change done and headed for a truck stop or rest area for a nights sleep.  But Ken was completely on board with staying a couple of nights here in Brunswick. That way we could hit up Southern Soul for some bbq, he could get in a round of golf and make a stop to pickup some Wainwright sausages; another reason for stopping - if not THE reason.

It's a story worth sharing.  On our previous trip we had gone out to breakfast and Ken's meal came with a side of Wainwrights. That's all the menu said, Wainwrights, like we were just sopposed to know!   Having no idea what they were he decided to give them a try.  Ends up they are a smoked beef/pork sausage made locally and sold out of a local campground - yes, a campground!  They were so good that after breakfast we headed to Country Oaks RV Park and picked up a 5 lb box - the smallest size they sell.  Knowing we were coming back this way we've been rationing them and timed it just right, Ken ate the last one a week ago.

We hope to be back this way late next year, but really have no firm plans.  We've managed to make room in the freezer for two, 5 pound boxes and we will try to make them last us until we are next back in this area. They will be nestled in next to the Lockeford sausages we have been rationing since we left Lodi, California almost a year ago.  That's another story and one I will share with you at a later date!
