Ken is a golfer.  He wasn't when I met him 25 years ago but as time has progressed he has become more and more of a golf 'addict'.   It doesn't matter where we should happen to park the house, he can always find a golf course! He golfs 2-3 times a week and I have learned to be a fairly supportive spouse - most of the time!  In reality, his being out golfing gives me a bit of a break, from him!  I always say the biggest adjustment to this life on the road was learning to spend 24 hours a day with my spouse!  You don't realize how little time you spend with someone when you have a fulltime job and other responsibilities until you end up in just under 400 sq feet on a permanent basis!  I love him, but......

So, with golf in mind, we headed for Mecca. Also known as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  This coastal community has over 150 courses in about a 25 mile radius.  Why?  I don't know, it is just how it is!  We settled in to our campground prepared for a week of golf, for Ken and hanging out, for me!  And than Hurricane Sandy decided to make an appearance!  Fortunately, she passed off shore by about 300 miles.  We got a lot of wind, some rain and a bit of flooding.  To say we've been in worse would be an accurate statement.  What it did do was put a bit of a crimp in Ken's golfing plans.  We extended our stay by 3 days, staying for 10 days instead of a week and he ended up playing 3 rounds, at 3 different courses.  He enjoyed all of them, which is a rare thing!  The prices were reasonable and he managed to come away with some insider tips on how to save money!

We have tentative plans to return for a longer stay, possibly a month or two, at the end of next year.  I was very happy in the campground we eventually settled it.  Myrtle Beach Travel Park is right on the water and there are literally miles of walking to be done along the shore. So, Ken can go golfing and I can go walking.  All and all a win/win situation.  On top of that the community has plenty to keep us busy.  And, because of the weather we didn't get out to do much exploring, so that remains for us to do as well!
