Decked out in our A's jersey's, we hopped on the commuter train for the trip into Yankee's stadium! Yankees stadium is the newest stadium in MLB and it feels like it. It is big and very sterile. Yep, I think that's the right word. It has no character and even the Yankee fans we spoke with felt the same way. They all missed the old stadium, sometimes, I guess, change can be bad!
Anyway, we arrived in plenty of time to wander around. We couldn't get near the on site museum, it had actually been shut down due to the crowds waiting to get in. We did manage to have a hot dog, but there wasn't any place to eat it once we purchased it ( I guess you are supposed to take it to your seat??). And, they had security guards at the entrance to the ladies restrooms, a first for me!
One other grumble from me. The National Anthem along with God Bless America, now played at the seventh inning stretch, were both recording!! Yikes, no real person to sing to us...maybe they don't have the money to pay for a live performer?!?!?
The game was great with our team winning!! Go A's!! We managed to get to and from the game without being harassed or taunted, very much a plus! And the weather could not have been any more perfect. Stadium #25 has now been taken off our list. All we have left are games in Atlanta (Braves), Miami(Marlins), Milwaukee(Brewers), Minneapolis-St Paul(Twins) and Cincinnati(Reds). I
