Ken & I can not remember the last time we visited here.  My handy National Park passport book has a stamp from the North Rim dated in 2006 but nothing for the South Rim.  We are fairly certain our last visit was back when we were both still employed. That makes it at least 7 years ago.   It had been long enough that our first view of the canyon this trip was like seeing it for the very first time, ever! We were completely blown away by the beauty of this National Park.  To say it is breath-taking is an understatement!

New since our last visit is a whole series of shuttle buses & routes.   These made it very convenient to get around the park, even though we pretty much had the place to ourselves!  Yes, late October is the perfect time to visit.  We had daytime temps in the high 60's with nights down into the 40's.  The campground was, maybe, a quarter full and the trails we hiked were virtually empty.

Please enjoy the pictures but, as we've said before, they really can't do the scenery here justice!  This is truly a magical place and one that we would encourage everyone to visit!

Wow! Still confused as to how you can have sooooooo much fun without us?
Last time we were there we overlooked the canyon and could see several places we camped along the river below. We took the long boat ride from lees ferry to the big lake. Wow, wish we could have been with you but then again, you really enjoyed it by yourself!

Love you two,

Jack & Debby
