We had a great couple of days in Dawson Creek and managed to take in all the 'required' stops in a fairly relaxed manner.  No need to rush as we had allowed ourselves ample time to get everything done, including that pesky housework that never goes away no matter how far you may drive! That's right, you can't get away from laundry and house cleaning.

We had originally planned on staying at a commerical campground about 160 miles north of Dawson Creek  but after calling them and discovering that they only had 20 amp service - for $30 a night we chose to find a wide spot along the road somewhere!  Fortuantely I had done my research and knew that there was a very large brake check at mile 156 of our travels.  After making sure everyone was on board with boon-docking we hit the road.

The drive was uneventful and we arrived plenty early.  Part of our group headed out for what we believed would be a short drive to the Sikanni Chief Falls Protected Area.  They were gone quite a long time mostly because the roadway was not clearly marked and once they found it they discovered a 10.5 mile dirt track that required slow traveling.  I'm still not sure if the trip was worth it for them!  They did however like the short side trip they took out to Buckinghorse River Wayside Provincial Park which has camping for $16 a night.  I'll keep that in mind if we ever find ourselves traveling this way again!
