Our time in the Canadian Rockies has, sadly, come to an end.  We had originally planned on driving from Jasper to Dawson Creek in one day.  The distance is a do-able 327 miles but we made the group decision to get part of the drive out of the way today.

We left the Whistler Campground in Jasper at check out time - 1100.  After all, we had paid 38.20 a night for our full hookup sites and wanted to get the most out of them!  Our plan was to use 'The Milepost' in an effort to find a wide spot along the way in which to boon-dock for the evening.

Well, for the first time since crossing the border the weather decided to not cooperate.  It didn't really rain but it wasn't exactly clear sailing either.  It was gray, dreary and foggy - not the best of driving conditions.  After a little over 120 miles we pulled in to the visitor center parking lot in Grand Cache, Alberta.  We inquired if the campground in town would accommodate rigs 'our' size and after being told yes headed a short distance down the road.

The campground was actually quite nice.  The only problem was that the 30 amp power wasn't exactly 30 amps - it registered more like 17 amps.  We weren't able to run much of anything in our coach without suffering a 'brown out'.  Needless to say, Ken wasn't particularly happy about spending $30 a night for lousy power.  The rest of the group seemed to get by better than we did so we compromised and had a pizza delivered - yes, delivered - to the coach!  It is only the second time since we all got together that we had dinner 'out' and the pizza was actually quite good!
