We've been coming to Quartzsite Arizona every January since we bought our current coach.  Well, except for last year since we were on our way to Mexico.  The reason for this annual pilgrimage is two-fold.  First of all, it is the gathering of Beaver Motor coaches which has grown from a group of about 20 to the over 90 anticipated this year.  The second reason is that it's Quartzsite in the winter.  This is RV Mecca.  Free, or close to it, dry camping, usually beautiful weather and almost unlimited shopping.

Now, this shopping ranges from someones junk/treasure, to new items you would find at most flea markets, new & used coaches and trailers and the BIG tent.  The tent is only here for a limited time and is occupied by folks selling anything & everything an RVer could ever need.

The usually quiet town of Quartzsite - if I had to guess I would say the population is right around 1,000 normally - is inundated with tens of thousands of rv'ing folks.  They come for the weather, for the free camping, for the comraderie of being with like minded folks or to just 'chill'.  Some people spend their whole 'season' here. Others fall in love with the area and end up moving here.

Ken and I look forward to our yearly week long visit here.  It is one of the highlites of our winter and we both missed attending last year.  If you have an RV we would highly recommend you plan on making at least one pilgrimage here, who knows, it may become an annual tradition for you as well!
