The Great Barrier Reef. One of the wonders of the world and the largest living ecosystem with billions and billions of inhabitants. We arrived here three days before our scuba diving trip. We spent the time walking around the town and looking through little shops. It has a really cool beach atmoshphere and lots of little shops that line it. When you originaly land here you fly into bowl that is surrounded by mountains on every side except the ocean. They're huge and jagged and provide a stark contrast to the rest of Australia. The trip out to the reef was long and the waves made everybody in our group sick. Once we got out there we forgot all about that and enjoyed the aquatic life. Which included giant clams the size of a computer moniter and large sea turtles.
