The Otago peninsula was one of the coolest places that I visited while in New Zealand. If you are thinking of studying aborad I would highly reccomend the University of Otago in Dunedin. The campus is made up of old castle looking buildings, that were built by the british back in the early 1900's. The campus is a very cool environment with a little river flowing through it. On our way to Dunedin we stopped off at a winery and went on a tour. The storage facility was a cave blown into the mountain. They had great wine and the tour was really informative. Also, when you get to the Otago Peninsula if you go all the way to the end you can see sea otters and sea lions. If you wait until dusk you will also see blue penguins. They are less than a foot tall, but it was still cool to see them.
