After a horrendously steep first thing in the morning hill, it was down gently all day and raining and generally a bit dull, but you can't have excitement all day everyday, you have to have something to compare & contrast with or so I keep telling myself.

On the way to Geraldine we both got quite excited on entering Mayfield, a town with a warning sign on as you enter informing us 'Blink and Miss Out'. It was raining and we were keen not to miss out so stopped at the only open place in town, where a women served us coffee and cake with the least grace in the world, she it seemed wished we had blinked and left her in peace, so just a little did we.

We arrived at Geraldine to find it a hub for touring cyclists, 5 others (1 pair and 3 individuals) all camping near by the most we have seen in one place!

Geraldine other main claim to fame is it is hope to the largest knitted Jersey in the world, which sort of summed up the sort of town it was.
