This day was fantastic!

After leaving what felt like the worlds most undulating town of Timuru behind we:

Cycled across the 45th Parallel, which had a sign and a plack (see photo's) but no parking so probably the only people appreciating it are cyclists or maybe the odd biker.

Then keeping up a impressive pace cycled to Oamaru a town which included a cafe in which we hid from the rain for a substantial amount of time and a park which we crossed to fin the campsite. In the park were a model elephant (life sized) and a model Humpty Dumpty (who wasn't real so they must have just chosen a size), both provided amusing photo opportunities (to us at least).

Following dinner made from random things we set off to see the penguins both the yellow eyed sort and the little blue kind.

The yellow eyed ones were up and over a HUGE hill and we didn't see much of them but the little blue are more organized and come ashore in a timely manor just after dusk each night so for a bargain $20 you can sit on some bleachers (like big stairs) only a few meters from where they come ashore and waddle home to waiting chicks.

AMAZING!!
