Today I spent the morning at the Sunrise orphanage. I stumbled across this the very first night as I was trying to find my way back to the guesthouse at night. The guard gave me directions and then made sure I was on the right track. I came back the next day to give them the boxes of crayons and paper I had bought in Vietnam. They told me that their most urgent needs were for baby formula and laundry soap.

So... all those who thought that you might get a crummy t-shirt or dust collector from my travels. You will now sleep better at night knowing that you in some way help these kids out. I put the money that I might have spent towards the formula and soap. Plus lots of sweets for the kids. So thanks for the help

The Sunrise orphanage takes kids that have lost parents or that the family can not support. If a kid is lucky they get to go to the orphanage, where they are fed and schooled until they are 18. If unlucky then end up begging on the streets or trying to sell postcards to the tourists.

There is only room for 50 kids. So these kids are very lucky.
