Where I stayed
Spent 2 days at the Falls, yesterday at the Brazilian side and today into Argentina. Yesterday we got caught in an afternoon deluge with the water hitting us horizontally, just enhanced the spectacle-talk about Wet and Wild. New brolly is completely knackered. At the moment the river is in flood with 3 times as much water as usual so its truly spectacular and the views from the Argentinian side, where 75% of the Falls are, are truly extraordinary. With a 4Km rim and 257 separate waterfalls, it makes for an impressive experience. We took a boat trip up the river to the base of the falls which ended with everyone getting very wet as our captain nosed the boat right up to the Falls. An experience worth the airfare itself.
All you can eat places seem very popular here and tonight it was the turn of the all you can eat pizza joint
Quick trip to Paraguay before we leave for our next adventure on the ranch in Uruguay. In 24 hours we will have travelled through Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and then into Uruguay-we are such jet setters!
Downside of Foz has been losing all Geoff’s socks in the laundry (Gigi lost hers as well). We think that they may be sending them to Paraguay to sell on the streets as every second person was selling socks there when we visited. We managed to buy 3 pairs back for £3 complete with Nike logo, can’t be bad.
