Where I stayed
Hi,
Left L.A and headed out into the desert to Palm Springs. A really nice town in the middle of nowhere. We stayed here as it was an easy drive to Joshua Tree National Park. Went on a bit of a U2 Pilgrimage as this is where the Joshua Tree album was written and where U2 stayed in a really rundown motel called the Harmony.
The park was amazing, huge rocks and loads of Joshua trees. It is part of the Mohave desert which is the only place in the world these trees grow. Went on a couple of trails but the environment is really harsh and coyotes are everywhere. We didn't manage to see any rattlesnakes.
There is a crazy place called Pioneertown in the middle of nowhere which is basically a movie set used for Westerns but they leave it up all year so it is really eerie as it is a movie set that you can drive through.
Back to L.A now to go to Disneyland!
