Hi,
Arrived into Los Angeles after navigating the scariest freeways imaginable. At stages there are 10 lanes and if you don't get into the right one you can end up having to turn off into another spaghetti junction. Los Angeles is huge but luckily we managed to get a really nice hotel right in the heart of Hollywood.
Hollywood Boulevard is unreal. The mixture of nutters walking the street is crazy, people dress up in costumes to go shopping! Went on a stroll to see all the stars in the pavement and the hand and feet imprints out side Mann's Chinese threatre where most of the premieres are held. The evening we arrived was the premiere of Smokin Aces so went down for a look at how it is done Hollywood style. also went for a look around the theatre where the Oscars are held.
The following day we spent in Universal Studios, we did the studio tour and saw loads of sets and special effects, absolutely brilliant. They also have a theme park there so went on all the rollercoasters.
The following day we went to Santa Monica where Baywatch is filmed. No sightings of Pamela Anderson though. Also went to Venice Beach which is the alternative beach in L.A. Anything goes here, shops selling whatever your heart desires ;-). Dogs in sunglasses, jugglers, fortune tellers, roller skating sheks etc...
Also got a map of where the stars live in Beverley Hills so did a pitstop outside Columbo's house for Paul. Went to a gig in the Knitting Factory where loads of bands started their career, cool place, built like a cave.
Had a great few days in Los Angeles, crazy place but good fun.
