Hi Everyone,
Picked up our banana car (look at the colour) from San Francisco last Sunday to start the drive on Highway 1 which hugs the coast all the way to Los Angleles. Our first stop was Monteray, a pretty town known for it's long association with sardine fishing!
Drove 17 mile drive which is a private road with amazing views of the ocean and some of the biggest houses we have ever seen. The main attraction in Monteray is their world famous aquarium which was fantastic. The sea otters were hiliarious, they have so many different types of jellyfish, sharks, turtles etc. They have a kelp forest exhibit where a diver enters to feed the fish and sharks.
We also visiting picture postcard Carmel where Clint Eastwood is mayor, the Steinbeck musuem and the house where Stevenson wrote Treasure Island. One of the first Christian missions in California was set up in this area and we went to visit the original buildings.
Off to Cambria next,
Lisa and Paul

Love the tea house!
I'll have an apricot tart please!
Looks like a very cool place. I'd say that Lisa had the nicest cuppa ever.
