Hi Everyone,
Arrived safe and sound into San Francisco after an epic journey (4 hours on the tarmac in Heathrow because the door on the plane would not shut!) then 3 hours in the airport searching for our case which did not arrive and then a train journey on the BART so we were pretty shattered by the time we got to the hotel. The receptionist was a guy from Kildare who took pity on the state of us, upgraded us to a suite and sent up two bottles of wine. The rest of our four days in San Francisco were amazing. Great city, really laid back atmosphere and very friendly people.
Spent our days exploring the different neighbourhoods, going on the cablecars and streetcars, looking at the seals on Fishermans Wharf, walking down the crookedest street in the world and visiting Chinatown and Little Italy. The first night we went to a Garlic restaurant called The Stinking Rose. All the dishes contained garlic even the wine and icecream. The chicken dish was served with 40 cloves! We also ate in Chinatown in a small cafe type place where the owner asked you what type of food you liked and then cooked it for you.
Also went on a night tour of Alcatraz which was fantastic. Caught the boat from the wharf on a pretty rough sea, saw the sun go down on the Golden gate bridge and spent about 3 hours on Alcatraz Island.
Hoping to get back to San Fran before we leave California to cycle the Golden Gate bridge

Happy honeymoon!
Was that Paul's head inside the cell? Must have been a good night!

I see you got to City Lights bookstore. Bukowski-tastic!

That's a lot of garlic, even for you guys. Must have really enjoyed it though.

Looking forward to the photos of the Canyon.

Have a ball.
