Only a short one this time as we spent less than 24 hours in Punta Arenas. We arrived after a 5 hour bus ride from Puerto Natales (pretty uneventful). Then we checked into our lovely hotel (it was a South American 5-star, different from a Western hotel 5-star, but still VERY nice compared to some of the other accommodations we´ve stayed at!).

We had a few hours free to grab lunch and check out the town before we went on an excursion to Otway Sound to see the Magellan Penguins who come to this part of the world every year to breed. We saw quite a few as they were playing on the beach and then walking up into the little hills and to their nests, but it was REALLY cold, the wind just cut through you, so we didn´t stay very long. Just enough to get these pics...

Tomorrow we´re off to Ushuaia - THE END OF THE WORLD!
