Ah the gateway to Arabia. Well, the airport in Dubai anyway. If you like to shop, this is the place. It's 1:30am and the place is packed with people buying while on layover. Pretty crazy stuff but watch out what you look up on the internet. I just had a big red flag come up to tell me that hotmail was blocked because the content did not fit with the culture or religious beliefs of the UAE. Yet downstairs in the DVD section you can buy a copy of Candy Striper Gone Wild. I was finally able to get into Hotmail but it was funny none the less.
We're waiting out a 7 hour layover on our way to Germany. It's kind of a bummer leaving Africa as it's our last 'exotic' place. Only Western Euroe remains and with that the end of the trip looms. Sitting here in this airport and hearing all the enticing destinations being called out I'm ready to hop on any plane headed anywhere but Europe! Not cause I dislike Europe, certainly not! It just marks the 'almost' end of the trip and that is always a bummer. Such is life. One trip must end so others can begin. But enough of that moaning. The trip isn't over yet and we have the World Cup finals to look forward to. We arrive in Germany just in time to find our friends Cale and Shona and find a spot at the local beer garden for game time.
In the mean time, I'm going to do something constructive and start adding all the pics I've been unable to post.
See you in Europe!
