Corning is one of the smaller towns we have stayed in with just a population of 9000. We are staying at a casino which is on a Indian reservation and run by the Indians. They own lots of casinos around the states and are very reasonable to stay at. The profits from the accommodation and casino are given back to the community which is good. We could learn something from them. This morning was spent checking with air New Zealand regarding our flight - which is still on, working out where we will spend the next few days and getting accommodation for those nights. It is getting very expensive the closer you get to San Francisco and with school holidays in full swing options can be limited. Anyway we got things done and tomorrow we head down to the Napa Valley then the next night it is Sausalito which is just on the other side of the Gateway Bridge. You can look back over the bay to San Francisco. We will drop our bags off at the hotel then take the car back then get the ferry back over to Sausalito. This afternoon we took a Mustang for a drive. The Ford dealership is very good here, just like any country dealership in NZ. It was a white V8 GT and drove very well. It was another very hot day hitting 100F again so we didn't feel too much like walking around so we came back to the hotel and had a swim. We are soaking up the good weather while we can!! There is a 18 hole golf course which is part of the casino so we decided to hit some balls from the driving range. It has got us keen to take up golf again!!!! I was given a Ping cx15 driver and it was so sweet. Gary used a Ping to and he hit with it quite well also. We are heading over to the casino to see if we can win heaps of money so we can buy the Mustang!!!! Dreaming again.
