Day trip from Guadalajara

As Lady Serendipity wishes, so it is.

The topless tourist bus took us from Guadalajara to Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tlake'pake) in just 30 minutes. It just so happened that we arrived during their Tequila Expo! Thirty-five producers were showing off their wares for tasting and buying - all varieties you could think of I'm sure you'd find here but we can't say for sure.

This would normally be a cause for celebration but this was way too soon. Suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder much? We were still recovering from tequila in Tequila. Just the thought made us physically ill. Ok... maybe just nauseous. That's why we only stopped briefly to watch the Mariachi Ladies band. Then we cruised on by, resisting temptation and avoiding eye contact with the scantily clad promo ladies.

The rest of the town is cute albeit totally geared at tourism. Their claim to fame is pottery and glass, neither of which interests us. Just no place in the backpack! Exploring the town took us less than 30 minutes, including stopping for photo opps and hunting for a public toilet.

There's really not much more to it. Time to head to the coast!
