Fox Glacier is the less commercial hence cheap and foxy sister of Franz Josef. To us it was more iconic and easily visible from a distance. Thank goodness that the prediction for clear skies were
accurate. We couldn't possibly survive more than 3 consecutive days of WWOOF-ing!

Walking on the glacier with hardcore cramp-ons was awesome! A paradigm shift was called for. You shouldn't be able to walk on ice without falling, let alone climb a wall of the stuff! It was totally
exhilirating!

In the end we had stiff joints and arms of jelly. These old bones just can't handle the pace, but I couldn't help snigger when the tweeny students admitted being shattered too!

So glad we didn't wait until we retire to embark on this adventure.
