There is no shortage of operators wanting to show off the LOTR film locations and share their movie-in-the-making anecdotes. Perhaps we've become disillusioned travelers (already?) but there's no way we were gonna pay $50 each to look at what's left of Hobbiton. While we're not hardcore fanatics, we enjoyed the trilogy. But we've seen the photos of "Hobbiton". The magic is gone! The spirit has been ripped out of the homes and all that remains is a shell!
So instead we took photos of surrounding shire-like hills and valleys...
