6 weeks, 6 days, 6 hours. 6-6-6.
It's a sign! Before the superstitious amongst you freak out, the "6 hours" bit was only added for dramatic effect. But it's STILL a sign! A sign that our LEE-ving date is fast approaching, like a head collision with a high-speed train!
Every morning I awake with a sense of excitement closely followed by the sobering realisation of all the little things that need sorting before we board that jetplane. That's of course assuming I manage to get some sleep!
I have never had so much contact with so many different customer service departments and spoken to so many automated people in such a short space of time. In fact I didn't realise exacty how many different "men" it takes to make this first world life of convenience happen. There's the taxman, the bankman, the electricity and gasman, the home insurance man, the life assurance man, the TV/broadband man, the plumber, the mobile phone man, the travel man, the accountant, mortgage man, the postman... What happened to the good ol' butcher, the baker and the candlestick-maker?
The makings of a bad and looong joke involving a bar perhaps, but at the moment this is how I'm spending the days of my life. Oh, and somewhere in between, I work. I have actually been working every day this year plus the occasional Saturday. The freelance project that I'm working on is enjoyable and the people are lovely but it's becoming repetitive. This is absolutely fine! It means stress-free, predictable days. Believe me, I have enough stress preparing for our imminent joblessness and homelessness!
But I digress...
Welcome to our very first travel blog post and thanks for joining us on our adventure!
