The flight home is fine. Dylan settles on take off and sleeps like a champ until breakfast is served. Special children's meal is cake! The air hostess didn't find this odd just commented that it was Canadian! Taya is asleep when we board and after a few words with the air hostesses we are finally allowed to leave her be facing Emma and in a seat belt, rather than facing forward in a seat belt, which is their policy. Of her 11 flights in her short life this is the first where they have decided this must be complied with, and also the first where Emma hasn't fed Taya on take off, so she has never been forward facing on take off. Taya wakes several times through the flight both times due to an air hostess being ridiculously loud. They never came to set up her seat, so Emma suffers the flight with Taya squirming around trying to get comfy. Rich doesn't get much more sleep.

We land in the UK about 1.30pm, 6.30am Candian time. It's grey and raining. Grandad John is there waiting for us at the airport and whisks us home. Lovely clean house thanks to The Gerlacks and welcome home pressies from them and the Kempton grandparents. Still raining.

Dylan immediately sets about recovering his possessions and much missed toys. An hour or so in it looks like we have been robbed. Em and Rich slowly find everything we need for bed time that has been packed in the loft. We punt at a 9pm bedtime and hope for a little rest before the first jetlagged kidlet requires us.

One of the most striking things about returning home is just how much Dylan has grown, and grown up. His cot which he slept in before we left reminds us how little he was when we set off. Sides off to create the bed and it looks absolutely miniature. Time for a proper bed for him.

Last time we were here with Taya she could just lie on the floor, now she is into absolutely everything. She enjoys exploring her new home. We wonder if she realises this is where we will be staying for a while rather than just another place for a few days or a week.

Last blog post for this adventure. Thanks for reading and we hoped you've enjoyed your travels around the world with us.

Thank you so much for sharing your adventures! I've loved reading about them (even if I am a bit behind). I almost didn't want to read the last few days as I didn't want it to be over for you.
