Around the World in Eighty Days. Wow Day 80; it feels like we have been away for about a year because of all the things we have done.

Tiddles is unfortunately not any better this morning and in fact probably a bit worse. We are concerned about her, and decide that enough is enough. After several calls to the insurance company we take her to urgent care to be checked out. Three hours later they have given her a thorough check and concluded that she just has a really nasty virus that she is struggling to kick. They give her an anti- sickness tablet, and some oral rehydration solution. We leave much more settled, and happy that we have been doing all the right things for her. She has been amazing through her ordeal, still smiling and happy 90% of the time. The grown ups have however reached the end of their tethers.

So after a very dull morning we set off for the lake side beach just at the bottom of our campsite for the afternoon. Dylan has his new bucket, spade, rake and shapes with him. We load up the pram with the children and all the bits and bobs, and go in search of some fun. The water is lovely at about 75 degrees, so we all get in for a swim and splash about. A much needed relax as a family. So lovely watching Dylan play safely in the shallow water, then run and swim out to see us. When we get out Dylan requests to be swaddled in his towel like a baby because he is cold. It's 99 degrees!; he's in for a big shock when we get home, he'll have to keep his coat on at home and nursery.

Showers on the way back to the van. Dylan is hilarious as he MUST shower all by himself and now he wants to hold it so he can shower all the bottles too. This could have disastrous future consequences.

Dylan's new word for the day is "mysterious".

Yummy dinner together in the van and then a swift (and dry) bedtime for Taya. Sleep tight little lady. Dylan and Rich do yet more laundry, spy a rabbit with really big ears, and buy some drinks from the shop. Dylan is full of beans tonight from their adventure. He really seems to enjoy the simple things.

Really nice evening temperature, so we sat out looking at the stars over the lake with a glass of Pinot (in a beaker!). Emma spies a shooting star and takes her chance to make lots of wishes.

Wow Lizzie – thanks for these – I am stunned not only by how much Taya looks like Dylan still but by how much she has GROWN and is already a ‘proper little person’ with mobility and real character showing in her expressions!
Keep the updates coming!
What an adventure!!!

Brilliant Lizzie – such an experience for the little ones to do this amazing trip and to be spending full time with both parents which must really assist their development, especially when Emma is so clued up about finding out the best methods for bringing kids on and they’re both such naturally brilliant parents.

Such high praise must be shared! ( Grandma Lizzie )
