On the move today after breakfast from our RV park in Anaheim to San Diego.

We spend most of the morning on the road. The children are tired still from our two days at Disney and they sleep most of the time, which is unusual for them in the morning. Thank heavens for sat nav. Rich does a sterling job up front whilst Emma blogs from the back, then becomes master of entertainment once the kidlets awaken. We stop for a yummy lunch in the RV. We are trying to be a bit more creative with the lunches, to mix up the ham and cheese sandwich theme. We have beef tacos and hummus tortillas, which go down a treat.

We head for Balboa park in San Diego for some sunshine, fresh air and a wander. The park is huge and really cool. It has loads of museums, entertainment, and interesting buildings alongside the green space. We enjoy one street with lots of stands. Dylan chooses a model balloon from lots of options and the man makes it for him. He, of course, chooses Mickey Mouse.

Next stop we see lots of birds and parrots at the San Diego bird rescue stand. The volunteers are walking around with the birds talking about them to the passers by. At the end of the walkway is a huge fountain with loads of children playing in it. Dylan runs over and starts taking his t shirt off. We explain he is more than welcome to go in, but we don't have a towel or a change of clothes for afterwards. He thankfully decides against it. Further into the park is a small fairground area. Dylan chooses to pilot a wooden plane on a small swinging merry-go-round. He absolutely loves it and grins and waves all the way around. The next ride is a really cool carousel with loads of different animals. The decision of which one to ride is tough, but he finally settles on a tiny horse. Emma gets on a big horse and we race off. Dylan immediately regrets his choice as his one is static and not one that goes up and down. We turn it into a race so it's more fun especially as Dylan's is set further in front so he is the winner. A little entertainment for Emma on the way around was that you had to grab small metal rings from a wooden dispenser with an outstretched arm as you whizz past. If you get the brass one you win a free turn. Despite getting all of the available rings none of them were brass, a man on the other side got it. Emma is most disappointed.

Next we come to a brightly coloured courtyard area with lots of lovely stands and tiny shops selling arty crafts. We wander back through the park to the RV and marvel at what a great outdoor space this is and how lovely it is that so far on our trip we've had nothing but sunshine 99% of the time. What a difference from what we've had in the UK.

Tonight we are staying about half an hour outside San Diego, this time not in an RV park. We are doing what is termed as boon-docking. This basically means that we are able to stay somewhere for free without any amenities. There are lots of websites where you can find out about these places and read reviews from other RVers. Tonight we are staying in the designated RV area of an enormous Casino car park. Dylan is hilarious when we pull in, "is this the campsite mummy? No, we're not sleeping in a car park....don't be silly mummy". We certainly are little man in an attempt to save some much needed money for the rest of our trip. After a macaroni cheese tea we start bedtimes. Again not plain sailing. Our conundrum is how to settle a baby when the noisy (but trying to be quiet) toddler is less than a metre away and it's bright daylight. Nowhere for the boys to go and explore tonight in a car park. The iPad come in handy and we get Taya down. Dylan has had a really late nap today and isn't keen on settling quietly. Pretty testing, and we are looking forward to cracking this bit, and hopefully very soon. Looking forward to seeing more of San Diego tomorrow.

Hey Sue and John, glad you are enjoying our adventures. Yes we were too busy playing at Disneyland for the blog, then our car park funnily enough had no wifi. Think it might be a bit more hit and miss around America depending on where we are staying. Sue you would have LOVED Disney, it was so much fun. Loads of love from us, hope you are both fine. Send us your news xx
