Travel day today. Not too much to report. All pleased to be checking out of the weirdest backpackers we've stayed in.

Packed up and on the road in record time. We pick Campbell Town to stop for coffee, a play in the playground, then some lunch in a bakery. Finally found some food that we thought was a good price. Taya joined us for lunch and did a great job, food is going in now that we are finding her more opportunities and options to eat, and she seems to be enjoying it.

We pick the longer coastal route for the drive to Coles Bay near Freycinet National Park, the glimpses we get of the coastline are super. We successfully find our accommodation. It looks fairly basic from the outside, as we expected, but inside its a really unexpected wow. We have a lounge area, kitchen, dining table, bathroom, separate ensuite bedroom, outside decking and BBQ. This is 5 star compared to what we are used to. The children enjoy the home comforts and play together with the stacking cups, whilst we get excited about having a washing machine and go crazy creating an enormous washing pile.

Quick supermarket trip leads to a lovely stroll on the beach in Coles Bay just as the sun is going down. Dylan wants to climb over the rocks in the water like daddy. We love his sense of fun and adventure. Back to our fabulous house for family dinner. We meet a local lady who asks Dylan all the usual questions - name, age, where's home etc, enjoying her conversation, then asks him if he's seen the local pelicans, "No, but we have seen local duck billed platysaruses". The kidlets get their first proper bath in weeks. We are hoping for speedy, settled bedtimes as we have a bottle of wine chilling and look forward to curling up on the sofa rather than whispering sat on the bed whilst the little people sleep on the floor around us.

We need lots of energy as we are off hiking in the morning.
