We arrived in Kuta quite late as the traffic was terrible and we crawled for about 1 hour. We had decided in advance to stay in some nice accommodation as we would be here for a week so eventually found a really nice resort called Suji Bungalows which had a pool.  We also rented a DVD player to keep us entertained for the week, and rented DVDs each night for 30p.

Kuta is a nice enough place, it seems to get a bad reputation but there are lots of nice shops and cheap places to eat, we never ventured out for a nights drinking as we just wanted to chill so can't comment on that side of it but we had a nice time there.

Justin rented a boogie board as the waves are huge on Kuta Beach but with strong currents it was quite difficult so he abandoned it after a few hours and a bit of sunburn.  Our days basically consisted of getting up, having breakfast in our room.  We had a fridge so got some cereal, then we would go for a swim, sunbathe and read our books, eat lunch, sunbathe some more, eat dinner, get a DVD and watch films for the evening.  What a rock and roll lifestyle we live.
