Where I stayed
We had an easy pack up this morning and we left Mildura at around 8:20am . The first stop was at 10:00am to take a photo crossing the border. While we were out of the car Jessica found an unusual sticker on the back of the caravan. It said 'I drive like a wanker'! Jason peeled it of immediately. We don't know who did it - we could only guess because she nearly wet her pants laughing. (Anita bought the sticker in Bali and couldn't wait to get it on our van).
The next stop was to declare our fruit and veg. The van and car got searched and all was o.k. until the inspecter found a bag of potatoes. He was not happy and told me it was a $395 fine for undeclared items. My only excuse was "i forgot". (he was a kind man, and he didn't fine us, lucky me). We were then of to Burra for lunch.
As we were driving to Burra, we crossed a ferry at Cadell. This came as a bit of a suprise and a bit of excitement to break the trip for the girls. The kids have been traveling really well. Reading, watching movies, doing their school work and singing very loudly. Jess was getting a bit sick and tired of the car towards the end and couldn't wait to get to Port Augusta.
We arrived at Port Augusta at 4pm and set up in about 20 mins. We are having take away for dinner so we don't have to get everything out. The guys are hoping to have another early start tomorrow so we can get to Coober Pedy at a reasonable time.

Good on you Jo - some great people do come from SA. My good friend Cassa comes from there. Hi Cassa.
I am so jealous. isn't Peterborough gorgeous? Are you stopping in the Barossa Valley? We are having miss Libby's farewell on Thursday and Friday, so will miss you. Taya, how is the homework going? Are you doing a travel diary? Even if you only do some drawings. You enjoy. Lots of love
