Bon Jovi Concert @ Ernst-Happel Stadiom

A week ago, Stacy and I saw in a magazine that Bon Jovi was playing in Vienna today.  After about two seconds of thought and a quick call to our babysitter, we were buying our tickets.  For two people who grew up in New Jersey in the 1980s, Bon Jovi was a big part of our lives.

So the night started with our lovely Ukrainian babysitter, Maria, coming over.  Stacy hit gold in finding her.  The kids love her and she is wonderful with them.  After we left the kids with her, we made our way to Ernst-Happel stadium with 56,000 other Austrians.  Thankfully the rain that was falling all day (almost everyday) stopped an hour before the show.  Our seats were center stage on the highest level of the stadium.  We were pretty much as far away from the stage as anyone can get in the stadium.  Thankfully, they had big tv monitors so we can see everything.

For a band where all the members are over 50, they put on a great show.  They played over 30 songs for 3 straight hours.  For those three hours Stacy and I sang and danced and had a great time.  The Austrians are bit reserverd but we did not let that stop us from having fun.  I think the show was exactly what Stacy and I needed...  a long, fun night together... reminding us of the fun we can have with each other just being us.
