Before I begin I would like to apologise if this is a really dull entry - I'm sick and sleepy so you'll have to forgive me.

Last weekend we spent a good few hours walking along the coast with Emelie.  The coast is eerie with the dark sky, the snow and ice around the water and the white swans bobbing around.  The snow is still deep so when we found a swing set along the way we couldn't resist having a bit of fun.  See the photos if you're interested in how a humble swing set can amuse 3 'adults' for over half an hour.  After that we walked past the Chocolate Villa which was apparently designed and built in Stockholm by some architect for a competition or display or something,  dismantled and brought here to be set up again.  It is a very pretty looking building and looked especially impressive because of the hundreds of icicles hanging from the rooflines.

You may remember that last week we put up some photos of our snow vandalising escapades.  Well when we walked past them again this week we found that other people had contributed to them!  Where we made body imprints on the snow bank at Rackarbacken, 8 more people have added their imprints alongside them. Pretty cute huh?  And where Pete wrote 'Pete was here 2010', someone added an 'r' making it 'Peter' and drew a huge and pretty snazzy smiley face above it.  Snow Vandals Unite!

Later in the week (can't remember which day) I went with Shell to the local radio station.  They had asked him to come and talk about the course and bring a foreign student with him.  So we got up bright an early and I have to admit that I'm not really sure what happened, they asked me a few questions in english but the rest was in Swedish so they could have been talking about anything.  Apprently they translated me but I wouldn't have a clue what they said.  Anyway if you're interested in listening to the podcast you can go to the school blog (saved2save.wordpress.com) and follow the link from there.

This week we had 2 guys from America come to teach us about 'The Father Heart of God'.  Their names were Jack Kody and Skip Anderson and they were fantastic teachers.  They were really humble and genuine which I think are about the most important qualities a teacher can have.  Skip kicked off the first day with a toe-tappin harmonica performance so I liked him immediately, reminded me of Neil Young.  Both Skip and Jack are fathers so they were able to use their own experiences to illustrate how God relates to His children as a father.  They had amazing Biblical knowledge of the subject as well and really brought the parables and references to life by examining the cultural context and explaining the relevance to today.  They ended the week with a bit of a treat for everyone.  They told us that they were going to take us to do something that fathers do with their children.  I assumed that we were going to go play baseball in the snow or something, since Jack said he's a baseball fan.  Instead they took us to a bakery up the road where they had reserved the back room and bought us all a cuppa and Semla (a Swedish cream bun thing).  It was a really great afternoon, a fantastic opportunity to have a chat and fill up on someone elses bill.

Until next time, have a good one

PS Pete and I have been put in charge of the school blog so don't forget to have a squiz! That link again is saved2save.wordpress.com

Needless to say your father chose the profile picture. I may have to learn how to change it!
