Well we have made it back to The South, this time to a previously unvisited state - Georgia! It was on our original plan for the honeymoon, but we had to miss it out for various reasons, so i'm so happy we've been lucky enough to be able to do it now...and get to see three Drive-By Truckers shows as well!

We arrived at Heathrow late last night, and had a few beers in the delightful establishment of the Heathrow Central Travelodge. After about 3 hours sleep, we were up and onward to Terminal 4. 10 hours in a tin box was as good as it can ever be, but the end destination is worth it!

We picked up the hire car, a slighty difference kind of "mid sized" SUV...i.e. it's fuckin' massive, but then if any Americans saw my car, they would probably think it was a toy. It took some getting used to again, but after half an hour or so, it just felt good to be driving on the wrong side of the road again! It just feels damn good to be back here to be honest. A bit of a contrast to the last visit, when I was terrified of coming over, this time I couldn't wait to get back here.

We've now chilling in our hotel room in Athens, getting ready to go out and get some food before we go and see Craig's band down the road - a great pre cursor to three DBT shows at the 40 Watt! For those who don't know who Drive-By Truckers are, i'll sum it up for you: they are a fuckin' awesome band who helped change my (wrongly) pre formed opinions of the south. Would you like them? Probably not, as let's be honest....you're not cool enough ;)  Are they worth travelling 4000 miles to see...hell yes!

I'll wrap it up now as if I don't get some food soon I may eat my own arms.

I will ramble at you more soon!

Dave
