We left Prague and decided to head south to Cesky Krumlov after hearing many glowing reviews from people we know who had been there. Unfortunately, I don't think any of those people have been to CK in the winter. I'm sure the summer there is really nice with lots of people and good weather but when it's freezing cold and you're the only person walking down the street, the experience is somewhat different. Nevertheless, we persevered and enjoyed ourselves walking down those deserted streets and admiring the beautiful views of medieval buildings. Cesky Krumlov is a very well preserved city and the castle and churches there are really nice. Aside from the cultural aspect of the town, we managed to make some friends with some other hostel guests and had a good night boozing it up at the various bars in town. One in particular that sticks out is the Horor [sic] Bar which is a sort of dungeon-eske place. The only flaw in the atmosphere was that they were playing George Michael instead of something spookier. Anyway, Cesky Krumlov was good and from there we decided to keep heading south by train to Vienna to meet up with Jon and Ester, two of the Spainiards we met in Prague.
