Set out from Dawson Creek for Fort Nelson with a late start after having breakfast, getting the tires rotated and stocking up on groceries. The day started off with lots of rain, but by mid afternoon it had stopped even though the skies were still overcast. Today we saw a deer, a glimpse of a single moose, and then a mother moose and her little calf. A picture of the deer will follow, but the moose were too fast for a picture. A really nice drive today, with lots of open terrain covered with trees. Speaking of trees, about 50% of the pine trees are now dead from "Pine Beetles", and "Blue Moss". Sadly, they say that by 2013, 80% of the pine trees in British Columbia will be dead due to the Beatle problem. Tonight we are at an R/V facility with about 75 other vehicles. Not really wilderness and they didn't even have any ice cream that I liked.
