We had a briaa last night (barbecue to you and me). Michael (dad) played chef but all went well and we enjoyed it. The stars in the night sky are amazing here. We had a really filling breakfast and then headed to a nearby game/rest spite reserve called Weidenhof. Where on our initial drive through we saw springbok, wilder beast, zebra and eland. Then we went for a walk up the mountains, the views were breathtaking. We had a picnic lunch which was supplied by our hosts. We decided to have that back at base next to the pool which was really good. They have booked us into a restaurant tonight in Stellenbosch and then tomorrow we move onto a private game reserve at Sanbona which is where we are staying for the next 2 days. It is a 3 hour drive tomorrow our checking in time is 12.00 pm so we need an early start.
It has been really peaceful here, the interns who have looked after us have been brilliant. They are on a placement here at the winery as part of their course (they are here 5 months) before they go back to studying again.
