We went to a different restaurant last night at the Waterfront called JJs. I ate Trout (locally caught but could have been either salt or fresh water fish as the Lagoon is a mix of both). Michael (dad) had hake. It was an enjoyable meal but even more so when the chef, waitresses and waiters who were all black burst into song. It was most unexpected but really good!
Today we had an elephant experience at an elephant sanctuary. They rescue the elephants and then hopefully reintroduce them to the wild. I led an elephant for a walk holding his trunk and then fed it. My elephant was born with no tusks as the gene for tusks was missing, it certainly was an experience. We felt the underside of the elephant ear which was soft and it's knees which are really hard. We were taught how to identify an African from an Indian elephant and that is by its ears as they are the shape of Africa. We were taught all sort of amazing things about elephants and then quizzed on them to ensure we got them right!
From there we went to a bird sanctuary called The Garden of Eden which comprised of all sorts of varieties of birds from wetland to jungle. The colours particularly of the male birds were wonderful.
