Where I stayed
Brunch at the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard before heading over to the La Brea Tar Pits. A real eye opener. A really interesting, historical look at LA and the impact that the tar pits have had on the history of the city. Not just a scientific timeline but an historical timeline as well. Spent about 3hrs there, a real worth while visit.
Towards sunset we drove up to the Griffith observatory in the Hills west of LA. This observatory was made famous in the movie 'Rebel Without a Cause'. Great views of the City at sunset. The observatory itself had a wealth of information on solar, lunar and astronomical features of the California Sky. Spent 2 hrs there, very worth while.
