Our last day in Namibia, today we would be crossing the border into Botswana but before that there was another early morning start to contend with as well as 540km to drive. We got to the border fairly early and everything passed through without a hitch. We arrived quite early at Ghanzi Trailblazers, our camp for the night. Although it was a campsite, it is actually on the Kalihari Desert. We were actually given the option of an upgrade here, if we did not want to set up our tents, we could hire a traditional hut complete with straw roof. Most declined though preferring the mosquito free environment of the tents. The next morning we another bushman walk, this time with an indigenous tribe of bushmen, although they could not speak English, there was a guide with them although the bushmen (and women) were remarkably good at getting there message across. They showed us plants that were used to heal all kinds of ailments from colds to constipation to arthritis. They got us to demonstrate seeds which crack open in your mouth which felt a bit like popcorn "popping." They dug out a root which when grated with a stick, supplies water as if you were wringing out a wet towel. All very cool survival tips if we were to get stranded in the desert, think I'll pack an extra few litres of water just in case.
