We drove from Le Grazie through Tuscany to a countryside region of Arezzo.  Our new home is the magnificant vini e olio inn:

Relais La Torre

The inn is owned and run by Tulio & Linda Marcelli (Linda is the same name as John's first boss at M.L.).  They live on this organic, agriturismo complex with their four children and his mother. Upon arrival, you instantly feel the aura of calm - nature, history, beauty and family - Truly Tuscany! The enchanting path leads you down to the pool which is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees.  This is a photographers heaven.

For dinner Tulio recommended that we go to Arezzo ("an authentic Tuscan city").

Arezzo is where Roberto Benigni filmed the award-winning and B-C fav - "Life is Beautiful." Having just been to Lucca, we had high expectations and got more!  Arezzo quickly became my favorite Tuscan "city."  It has very few tourist/shops and just felt very real.  We came across a fabulous shop (cheese, meats, herbs . . . see photos) right down from the main square - Piazza Grande.

As I entered the Piazza Grande, I had flashbacks of one of my favorite scenes in Life is Beautiful . . . when he is riding down the Piazza on his bike . . . at that moment this family came zipping by.  I love this town already!

We eat at Logge Vasari in the Piazza Grande and had a long dinner full of wine, delecious food (zucchini flowers!) and a Gordon stroll between each course (He and Ian had the Tasting Menu).

A great day!
