welcome back blogfaces!

Noosa, quintessential surf town on the sunshine coast - we are going to see quite a few of these. The Queensland sun is shining and turning our skin a healthy brown - this is a relaxed place, we covered a hundred or so km's in Hercules to get here and its really nice. Driving in Oz is just like the UK except the road signs are written like they are for children, everything is spelled out in bold letters.

We are staying in a campsite near the ocean and its really nice, we decided to do a day trip to Fraser Island. It's the largest sand island in the world and when they say day trip - they mean it. the sun rises at about 6am and we were picked up from our campsite at 6.15am! A massive custom built 4x4 that holds about 16 people is our vehicle of choice - our space ship isn't 4x4 so as much as it pains us we have to leave him to sit in the sun all day. The drive there is over the beach which is officially charted as a primary road! its pretty easy going with amazing views of the sun coming up over the pacific. but when you get off the damp sand its pretty tough driving. the 2nd 4x4 in our convoy (of 2) got stuck and we had to tow him out - and these are massive heavy duty 4x4's.

We toured around the island and stopped at one of the many fresh water lakes, had a bit of swim and BBQ - nice! then home via a different route which allowed us to see Kangaroo's in the wild! that was an unofficial benefit of the tour which was pretty amazing.

OK, keeping it short because we have a lot of these blogs to do.
