Where I stayed
Posada Marendaz
Not long after leaving the island we arrive in a small town called Paratay. The streets are alot safer than where weve been so far and it seems everyone in this town is generally happy.
The streets here are cobbled and easy to navigate.
When we arrived in town we quickly headed for the natural rock slide where people can climb and slide down a natural waterfall found deep in the jungle.
After a 15 minute hike, we found it along with a small natural lagooon where the water collects before lathering the rocks. This place rocks!
After having a swim in the lagoon, we attempted the 30 metre slide. The rock face is covered in mos and gew, and to get a good slide its important to get set and try to aim for a pritine spot at the bottom of the falls where youre not likely to smash into anything. So i went first.
After a few runs and an injury, we decided the climp back up to the top of the slide was a bit too risky and time wasting so we hit the lagoon again...its hard to believe place like this exist until you actually experience them for yourself...check out the photos to see what im talking about.
The following day the group split with some heading to the local beach and others to kyack. Ofcourse i hit the beach.
This beach is another that looks like its from the movies with huge boulders lining the shore line that are pretty fun to climb up and navigate through when not sun bathing or in the water. The other end of the shoreline is lined with restarants on the sand.
I spent the whole day on this beach and could spend another if i had to, youll know what im talking about when you see the pics (if i get to a high speed connection that is)
This is out last stop before we discover the falls...looking forward to it!
